Writing 汉字 in the right stroke order builds muscle memory, keeps characters balanced and legible, and makes them faster to write and easier to look up in dictionaries. Every worksheet shows the standard stroke sequence, and the tracing guides start you off on the right foot — the same rules taught in Chinese schools.

Is this Chinese worksheet generator free?
Yes. Generating, previewing, and downloading worksheet PDFs is completely free and requires no account. You can print the sheets for personal or classroom use.
What grid styles are available?
Three styles: Tianzige (田字格, with cross guides), Mige (米字格, with diagonal guides), and plain square grids — each in small, medium, and large sizes.
Does the pinyin show the correct tones?
Yes. Pinyin is computed with word-level context, so polyphonic characters get the right tone: 长城 becomes cháng chéng and 行长 becomes háng zhǎng. In Characters mode, all readings of a character are listed.
Can I practice stroke order online instead of on paper?
Yes — our free online practice tool lets you trace characters with your finger, watch stroke-order animations, and hear pronunciation. Open it at the Practice page.
How many characters are supported?
About 9,500 characters covering simplified and traditional Chinese, based on the Make Me a Hanzi stroke database. HSK 3.0 (2021) vocabulary levels are shown on the online practice cards.
Can teachers use the worksheets in class?
Absolutely. Add a Name · Date · Class header (or a custom title), print as many copies as you need, and hand them out. The 100% vector output stays sharp at any print size.
